Video Production Tips, Insights & Instruction from the front lines
In this series, we'll break down what makes Vv's work, what is one and tips on how to get your video up to a massive amount of views.
V.V.'s are every marketing/advertiser/bloggers lotto ticket. In our video production san francisco company, we watch, share and laugh with them as much as everyone else. And why not, they practically cost nothing to make, nothing to host, and can create more exposure then a $1,000,000 marketing campaign. I'll sign up for this any day of the week. But for as simple as a Vv is to make, it is often the most misunderstood type of video made in corporate America today. Trust me when I say it's everyone's favorite buzz word.
Having been on location with some of the biggest companies in the US and hearing them explain that 'oh, we're just making a viral video' makes me want to bang my head against a 'viral wall' and go have a shot at the 'viral bar'. I even give them the benefit of the doubt, and looked back at the videos they created and seen the hit count skyrocket to almost 163 views in 2 months, wow ! And these are Fortune 50 companies that get a lot of natural traffic! And of those 163+ views, 3/4 of those come from Facebook friends or tweets. So where do they go wrong and how ?
Simply saying the words 'Viral' or any other word doesn't make it true. Wait, let me check this theory………………..crap, no Ferrari waiting for me outside, back to writing. What makes a Vv or the definition of one then ? These are great questions. The typical rule of thumb on a viral video is one that grows at an astronomical rate, and typically has at least 300,000 + views within a couple weeks. Lets say:
Day 1 you have 100 views
Day 3 to 5 : 10,000
Day 6 to 9: 100,000
After 2 weeks: 300,000 +
Notice that once your video gains traction, it will experience this growth naturally once bloggers see it, friends share it on Facebook and tweets are sent with links to your video. You'll have the world promoting your video, how cool is that !
Now there are two main types of Vv's : Business & Personal
In the next blog, we'll take a look at the these two types, break down what works with them and offer you tips and suggestions to make your own video production, or if you want to work with us, a boutique San Francisco Video Production company, build a strategy together, we'll be happy to work with you and your brand/product.
